Combine multiple Excel, XLS and CSV files into one workbook online — every worksheet kept.
Merge Excel Files Online is an Excel file merger for combining spreadsheets without installing software — use it to merge multiple Excel files, combine Excel files into one workbook, or merge Excel files into one workbook. Select up to 20 .xlsx, .xls, or .csv files, and every worksheet from each file is carried into the merged result with a prefix based on its file name — Sales.xlsx keeps Sales_January and Sales_February, and a second Sales.xlsx becomes Sales_1_January so nothing collides. Number formats, dates, column widths, merged cells, comments, and hyperlinks are preserved, and formulas stay as formulas. Everything is processed in your browser, so files are not uploaded to LiveTools servers. See also: split-excel or csv-to-excel or excel-to-pdf.
Whether you want to merge XLSX files, merge Excel sheets, or combine Excel workbooks, the flow is the same. First, select your files with the file picker or drag and drop them onto the upload area. Each file is checked instantly and listed with its file size, worksheet count, file prefix, and the worksheet names it will contribute to the merged workbook. Then click Merge Excel Files — worksheets are copied one file at a time into a single workbook, with references between sheets of the same file updated to their new names. Before you merge, use Output Sheet Order to arrange the worksheets with Move Up and Move Down. Finally, download the result as merged.xlsx.
Kept: values, formulas, number formats, dates, booleans, errors, merged cells, column widths, row heights, hyperlinks, and comments.
Not kept: fonts, fills, borders, alignment, hidden rows, hidden sheets, conditional formatting, data validation, defined names, tables, freeze panes, images, charts, pivot tables, and macros. Macro-enabled .xlsm files are rejected before merging.

Yes. Every worksheet from every selected file appears in the merged workbook, renamed with its source file prefix so names never collide.
Yes. Legacy .xls workbooks are supported as input, and the merged result is always downloaded as a modern .xlsx file.
Yes. Each CSV file becomes one worksheet named after the file, so customers.csv becomes customers.
Files are processed in your browser. Files are not uploaded to LiveTools servers. No account or API key is required. No watermarks.
Formulas were kept as formulas, and references between sheets of the same file were updated to the new sheet names. A few complex references, such as links to other files, may need review after merging.
Number formats, dates, column widths, row heights, merged cells, comments, and hyperlinks are preserved. Fonts, fills, borders, conditional formatting, charts, and pivot tables are not.
Macro-enabled workbooks (.xlsm) are not supported. Save as .xlsx (File → Save As) and try again.
Each worksheet gets a prefix based on its file name, so duplicates stay unique. If a name still collides, a numeric suffix such as _1 is added, and every sheet name stays valid at 31 characters or fewer.
You can merge up to 20 files at a time with a combined size of 100 MB. Files beyond these limits are flagged before merging starts.
